Scrapbooks Are Perfect Gifts
Everyone knows scrapbooking is a fun hobby and a great way to save and display your own personal family photos. But did you know that a scrapbook makes a perfect gift for friends and family. Since scrapbooks are personal items, they are not always suitable for everyone. They are usually not created for acquaintances, unless you are creating custom scrapbooks for another person. For example, someone at your place of work may ask you to create a scrapbook for someone who is retiring. Once people find out about your talent and passion for scrapbooking, everyone will want you to create one for them. But in general, you'll find that giving scrapbooks as gifts to your parents, siblings, children, and close friends are an excellent gift and one that is greatly appreciated. One of the fun parts of making a scrapbook for a gift are in gathering resources and research. Usually this is one project that you can not complete on your own. Most of the time, you will need a close accomplice to help out. You will also have to use your sleuthing skills and take out your detective cap as you take photos away from your intended recipients. You can copy photos with a scanner and computer without anyone ever noticing the pictures are missing. And you have all the pictures needed for completing your projects. It is always a good idea to take current photos as well. It is also a great idea to always leave some blank scrapbooking pages. That way, your recipient can add several photos of his or her own to the scrapbook, if they wish. A scrapbook makes an excellent gift for birthdays, anniversaries, graduations, and retirements. If you don't like surprising the recipient, or feel too difficult to get the photos that you need secretly, you may want to let the recipient know what you are planning on creating for them as a gift. This way, they can help in the planning process and help choose the photos that they want included in the scrapbook. You do not have to feel uncomfortable about this. People love to receive scrapbooks. It isn't the element of surprise that makes these gifts special, it is the time and skill that you will invest in the project that makes them meaningful. Make sure that you spend plenty of time beforehand determining if it would be better to keep the gift a surprise, or whether you would like to have help from the recipient. You may find that it is easier and results in a better gift when the recipient selects the content for the scrapbook. Another scrapbook gift that you might want to let the recipient help plan on making is a bridal/wedding scrapbook. The bride to be will be happier with the gift and will gladly share her collection of pictures, treasures, and sentimental items for the scrapbook. Again, you will want to leave a few blank pages so the bride can include some of her most treasured and personal moments. Holiday scrapbooks also make excellent gifts. These usually can be created without the help of the recipient. Since they do not need to reflect momentous milestones in a life, you can use current photos to create the scrapbook about events that transpired during that holiday season. These are treasured for years to come. There are numerous embellishments that are available to accessorize holiday inspired scrapbooks. There is no doubt about it, scrapbooks make perfect gifts for any occasion.
